Before Rick and Morty dominated Adult Swim collectibles, Kidrobot built a miniature time capsule of the network’s mid-2000s schedule. Adult Swim Series 1 arrived in April 2008 as a blind-box vinyl assortment drawn from nine shows, with a suggested retail price of $7.95 at launch. The current product is a sealed single box containing one 2-inch figure, not a complete set or a guaranteed character.

The checklist is broad rather than centered on one franchise. Aqua Teen Hunger Force supplies Carl and a combined Ignignokt-and-Err design. Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law contributes Avenger and Birdgirl, while The Venture Bros. is represented by Dr. Girlfriend and the Monarch. Metal fans get Toki Wartooth and Murderface from Metalocalypse.
The rest of the disclosed grid reaches deeper into the period: Assy McGee; Orel from Moral Orel; Robot Chicken and the Mad Scientist; Early, Granny, and Lil from Squidbillies; and Killface from Frisky Dingo. Two red question-mark slots sit beside those sixteen designs. What the printed ratios actually say
The holographic checklist is unusually useful because it prints a ratio beside every disclosed character. Assy McGee, Avenger, Granny, Murderface, Birdgirl, and Killface are each marked 1/25. Dr. Girlfriend, Orel, Toki Wartooth, and Robot Chicken are 2/25. Early, the Monarch, and Carl are the comparatively frequent 3/25 designs.
The hardest disclosed pulls are the Ignignokt-and-Err pairing, Lil, and the Mad Scientist, each printed at 1/50. That is a 2% stated pull ratio, compared with 12% for a 3/25 character. Those three are therefore reasonable to describe as collector chasers or chase-level pulls: they are materially short-packed even though their designs appear openly on the box. That is collector terminology, not evidence that Kidrobot officially branded them as capital-C “Chase” figures. The two mystery slots do not show readable ratios, so their scarcity should not be guessed from the packaging.
Why this particular sealed box matters
Series 1 captures Adult Swim before several later headline franchises entered Kidrobot’s 2017 assortment. Its appeal is the older programming mix: Frisky Dingo, Assy McGee, Moral Orel, and Harvey Birdman share one checklist with bigger evergreen names. For a focused collection, it makes more sense to choose a favorite show or character than to assume one blind box can efficiently build the whole cross-network set.
Condition also matters differently for sealed-box and loose-figure collectors. The photographed box retains its high-gloss holographic finish and appears generally intact, with light edge or corner handling visible in some views. The clear outer material and limited angles do not prove a factory seal on their own, so examine all available photos if the package itself is part of the display. For an opener, the key expectation is simpler: one random 2-inch figure, with the printed ratio describing the assortment rather than guaranteeing what any individual box contains.
