Funko’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Pint Size Heroes arrived alongside the film in spring 2017. The format is smaller than Mystery Minis: each sealed blind bag contains one stylized vinyl figure standing about 1.5 inches tall. That compact scale, the movie-specific cast, and the existence of separate retailer assortments make the packaging worth identifying before buying or trading loose figures.

A movie-timed 2017 release
Funko’s official feature was published on April 25, 2017 and described the range as already in stores; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opened in the United States on May 5. This is therefore a movie-release assortment, not a later mixed-Marvel series. That distinction helps when comparing bags, checklist images, or loose Pint Size Heroes whose similar proportions can make different waves look deceptively interchangeable.
The standard lineup image contains 12 designs drawn from the sequel: masked and unmasked Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Baby Groot, Yondu, Nebula, Mantis, Ego, Ayesha, and Taserface. It is a useful cross-section of the film rather than only the five original Guardians. A collector can build a core-team display, but the same wave also covers the sequel’s new allies, family connections, and antagonists.
Standard bags versus retailer-exclusive assortments
Funko’s own guide shows the standard lineup separately from exclusive variants and tells collectors to look for additional versions at GameStop and Walgreens. That matters because “complete set” can mean two different things: the 12-design standard assortment, or the wider family that also includes retailer variants. A loose figure that does not match the standard lineup is not automatically an error or custom; it may belong to one of those store-specific groups.
The official graphics do not display numerical pull ratios, and the available BlindBoxes product information does not promise a particular character or rarity. It is safest to treat this as a genuine random single-figure bag, not as a guaranteed exclusive or a documented chaser pull. When evaluating an opened example, compare costume colors and character details with the correct standard, GameStop, or Walgreens lineup image rather than assigning rarity from memory.

What to inspect on an older blind bag
For a sealed 2017 item, the wrapper is part of the collectible. Check the top and bottom heat seals for openings, resealing, or tears; examine corners and the hanging tab for splits; and look for deep creases that could weaken the foil. Normal shelf wear is different from a puncture that reveals or exposes the figure. If the goal is to preserve the bag unopened, ask for clear front, back, and seal photographs and store it away from heat and direct sunlight.
If the goal is to open it, remember that one bag supplies only one figure from the applicable assortment. Completing even the standard 12-character set can involve duplicates, so trading identified loose figures is often more controlled than repeatedly opening old stock. Conversely, an intact bag preserves the original mystery experience and works as a compact companion to larger Guardians displays.
How this differs from Guardians Mystery Minis
Pint Size Heroes and Mystery Minis are separate Funko formats. This product uses a blind bag and approximately 1.5-inch figures; Mystery Minis usually use printed cardboard blind boxes and a different sculpt style. That difference should remain explicit in saved searches and collection records. A title that only says “Guardians mystery figure” can easily mix the two lines.
Collectors building a broader Marvel blind-figure shelf can also browse the Marvel guide archive, but this bag’s strongest identity is its focused Vol. 2 cast and 2017 retailer-assortment story.
